Oh it's great to be retired! I have been making ATCs all week with my quickie background technique. I love love love working on a full sheet of watercolor paper, the opportunities are limitless! I tried something else today I had never done before. I added Titan buff to several colors and I really like how it mutes the shade and makes them slightly opaque. Here's my newest batch.
GORGEOUS art Verlene....I see the difference in your style...it's progressing beautifully...even the faces have changed some and are extremely enchanting. OX
I really like you ATCs and your background technique for a series is wonderful. I have only made a few ATCs but enjoyed it and when I get time to do some, I would like to trade with you. I know we are kindred spirits because my fingers love love clay too. I just don't get the time for it. Nothing happens when I've got clay in my hand. I don't get dressed, sleep, eat, cook, ...just go to the bathroom. I miss it and so glad I popped over to see yours.
Other than a little talent passed on to me by my grandma, Pearl, I am a do it yourself kinda gal and like to figure things out on my own most of the time. When that doesn't work I take an online workshop. We live on 3.5 forested acres with a breathtaking view of Mt.Hood.
“To live content with small means... To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion... To be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich... To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly... To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart... To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never... In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common; this is to be my symphony.”
