Well I've started my portrait class with Suzi Blu and I'm having so much fun! Here are my first sketches in gray tones. Can you tell I'm excited? *LOL* I can't think about anything else! This is really fun! I think you can still sign up until the 22nd, just go to her ning site.
Other than a little talent passed on to me by my grandma, Pearl, I am a do it yourself kinda gal and like to figure things out on my own most of the time. When that doesn't work I take an online workshop. We live on 3.5 forested acres with a breathtaking view of Mt.Hood.
“To live content with small means... To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion... To be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich... To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly... To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart... To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never... In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common; this is to be my symphony.”

Great stuff Verlene! I've gotten quite addicted to sketching portraits and never in a million years would I have dreamt that!
