Happy New Year 2009

Ta-DAH! I am so excited...today I bought my first ever MOLESKIN journal with wonderful thick pages that I can paint and write on! I have never kept an art journal before but thanks to inspiration from Suzi Blu, Milliande, and Misty Mawn, I am on my way into the wonderful wacky soulful world of art journaling! I'm so excited I hardly know how to start my first page but I'm determined that by the time I go to bed tonight I will have one page done. If it is worthy of public viewing I will post it here.

Happy New Year to all!

Christmas Snow & Art !

Even since we moved from California to Oregon 40 years ago, I have craved a white Christmas! Well I got my wish this year, boy did I ever!!!!! We had 18" inches of luscious white goodness and even tho we were without power for 5 days over Christmas, I still love snow!

This is my little garden house, Bittersweet Retreat, barely visible behind my weeping willow tree. There is a piece of corrugated tin over a small pile of firewood that wouldn't fit in the wood shed, you can see the depth of the snow there...just awesome! Remember this is the Pacific Northwest! We never get this much snow, maybe an inch or 2 but it melts the next days. This stuff it still around and it's been almost 2 weeks. It helps that we have a northern exposure.

I did get a couple paintings done over the holidays, Midnight Snow and Snow Play.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are making plans for your brand spanking new year ahead. If you come up with a New Year's Resolution that does not involve dieting or getting organized let me know. I need something fun and artsy or it will never get done! *LOL* Happy New Year dear friends.
